Description:
  • Serve as a strategic advisor by contributing to the formulation of policies, strategies, and governance frameworks that guide the organization.
  • Hold fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring the organization's resources are used responsibly and for the intended purpose.
  • Participate actively in board meetings, committees, and special events, providing leadership and oversight.
  • Engage in decision-making processes concerning the organization's direction, including budget approval, policy setting, and program development.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission, vision, and values in the community and among potential partners or donors.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the organization against its objectives, ensuring accountability and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

 

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas critical to the nonprofit's operations, such as law, finance, marketing, human resources, or the specific subject matter of the organization (e.g., education, health, arts).
  • A deep commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit organization, with a willingness to dedicate time and resources.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in governance or strategic roles within other organizations or boards, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • An understanding of fiduciary duties and the legal responsibilities of being a board member or trustee.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and maintaining confidentiality where required.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, contributing to the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.
